There are three kinds of plastic products used in food packaging: polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene and polystyrene. For a short period of time used to contain edible oil, no harm to human health. However, using them to hold edible oil for a long time will pollute food and cause harm to human body.

This is because this kind of packaging bottle has the characteristics of high transparency, easy aging, etc., in the air will be affected by oxygen, ozone, ultraviolet, produce strong odor, plus polymer itself aging, if used for long-term storage of edible oil, easy to make these food deterioration.

In addition, the element vinyl chloride in polyvinyl chloride is not only toxic, but also easily decomposed in acid and grease to precipitate toxic hydrogen chloride and chlorine. Plasticizers added in polyvinyl chloride, such as phthalates, are toxic. Lead, cadmium and organic tin used as stabilizers are toxic chemicals, which are highly toxic and easily dissolved in grease. Plastic polystyrene is a low-toxic substance, but its composition of styrene and volatile components of ethylbenzene, cumene are toxic, and very easy to dissolve in grease. Plastic polyethylene itself is not toxic. However, it is in contact with the oil, can decompose the precipitation of low molecular compounds, these low molecular elements dissolved in oil will produce toxicity.
